The Hudson Valley CISM
Team is a non-profit
organization made up entirely of emergency services
workers, their spouses, clergy, and mental health
professionals who volunteer their time to assist fellow
emergency services workers and their families.
The Hudson Valley CISM
Team follows the
critical incident stress management model advocated by the
International Critical Incident Stress Foundation, Inc.
(ICISF) as described in the manual, Critical Insident Stress Debriefing:
An Operations Manual for the Prevention of Traumatic Stress
Among Emergency Service Workers and Disaster
Workers,
(Mitchell & Everly, Chevron Publishing Corp.,
1993).
